Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

Shifa Surgery offers a full travel advice and immunisation service.

If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit our travel form which can be collected from reception; but please do so in plenty of time, (we recommend 6-8 weeks) before your journey.

– Diphtheria
– Tetanus
– Polio
– Hepatitis A
– Typhoid

It is also important to ensure you are up to date with any routine immunisations before traveling.
  • For any non NHS vaccines, please attend a private travel clinic.
We are no longer able to prescribe medications to delay periods for travel or holiday purposes according to our local prescribing guidelines.

If you are under 16 years of age or are  immunocompromised then please book a routine appointment to discuss this further with one of our clinicans.

Please visit your local pharmacy or online travel clinic where you will be able to purchase this medication.
